Skiathos belongs to the Sporades group of islands in northern Aegean Sea and it’s recently been discovered by many international celebrities who now visit it every year (such as Kate Hudson). Skiathos combines unparalleled natural beauty with unspoilt beaches and one of the clearest sea waters you will ever see.

Skiathos island is not that close to Athens and you can reach it by a 3.5 hours ferry from Agios Konstantinos port which is 2 hours drive from Athens or you can alterantively (and easier) just take a direct flight from Athens or from a few European cities like Stockholm or Milan or even Bristol. There is an international airport in Skiathos island but international flights operate only between May and October (always check Ferryhopper for the latest ferry schedules and Booking.com Flights for the most up to date flights to greek islands).

I think you’d be better off by renting a car in Skiathos, as you will have more flexibility to explore the island but it’s not necessary in my opinion and a taxi or the local bus should be ok.
