Santorini’s best beach hotels are located on the island’s eastern coast, primarily in the black sand resort towns of Perissa, Perivolos, and Kamari. Unlike the cliffside caldera hotels, beachfront accommodations offer direct access to the Aegean Sea, level walking paths with no stairs, and significantly lower nightly rates. They are the top choice for families, budget-conscious travelers, and those prioritizing swimming over sunset views
Beach hotels in Santorini have lots of benefits, including having direct access to some of the best beach clubs on the island and, of course, being meters away from the famous Santorini beaches.

To be honest with you, thought Mykonos beaches are much superior to the ones in Santorini, and beach hotels in Mykonos are much better and more luxurious.
VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW
- Best Areas by the Beach in Santorini: Perissa, Perivolos, Kamari. None of these locations is close to the famous town of Oia. You either have to take a car to go to Oia or get the local bus. It takes about 30-35 minutes to go to Oia from any of those areas by car (Perissa, Perivolos, Kamari)
- Best Beach Hotel in Santorini:Petri Suites
- Best Private Beach Villa to rent in Santorini:Almyriki Beach Villa
- The hotels in Santorini that are closer to the beachside town, such as Perivolos, Kamari, or Oia, are much cheaper than the ones in Oia or Fira. The majority of these hotels are usually the most family-friendly hotels of Santorini (Kamari beach is the most family-friendly area on the island).
- The beach towns of Perissa and Perivolos are the famous long black beach of Santorini
- Where to Stay in Santorini: You are going to get the most famous Santorini views if you stay in Fira, Firostefani, Oia, or Imerovigli. My personal favourite is Imerovigli as it is very secluded and you won’t have thousands of tourists crowding at your doorstep every afternoon to see the sunset. If you want cheaper accommodation and food, then stay close to the beaches of Perissa, Perivolos, or Kamari

FAQs
Which is better: Perissa, Perivolos, or Kamari beach?
Are there white sand beaches in Santorini?
No. Because Santorini is a volcanic island, all of its beaches consist of black volcanic sand, red pebbles, or pumice stones. The black sand absorbs heat quickly, so wearing water shoes is essential when walking from your hotel lounge chair to the water during the summer months.
How far are the beach hotels from Oia and Fira?
The beach towns of Perissa, Perivolos, and Kamari are located on the opposite side of the island from Oia and Fira. It takes approximately 20 minutes by bus or rental car to reach Fira, and 35 to 45 minutes to drive to Oia for the famous sunset views.
Do Santorini beach hotels have caldera views?
No. The beach hotels are located at sea level on the eastern side of the island. They offer beautiful views of the Aegean Sea and sunrise, but they do not overlook the volcanic caldera or the western sunset.
