I’d say that 6 months to 1 year in advance is probably the safest period for you to book you holidays in Mykonos but you will always find some last minute good deals if you are lucky. *Santa Marina is a complete resort and it is very child friendly*

My view: this is a complete resort and possibly one of the most child-friendly hotels of Mykonos (there is a playground!). The service is amazing and the spa is one of the best in Mykonos. Bear in mind though that you will be staying at Ornos which is not close to the Mykonos City where all the buzz is.

Honestly, the best hotel in Mykonos is Cavo Tagoo Mykonos. There are also some very good options closer to the beach but in my opinion it is better if you stay closer to Mykonos Town as it will allow you to enjoy the beautiful and lively Mykonos town much better.
