Mykonos Town is not just your typical greek island capital.

Even though the town’s architecture and lovely whitewashed streets look typical it’s mainly the people and the amazing buzz that the town has during the high season of summer, that makes all the difference.

After all,  Mykonos Town is a celebrity hot spot!

Last years Leonardo Di Caprio, Mariah Carey, Lindsey Lohan , Ariana Grande and the whole US Basketball team were spotted wandering and partying in Mykonos town.

Make no mistake: The most amazing restaurants, shops, boutiques, bars, clubs and hotels of Mykonos are in Mykonos Town.

  • Best Hotel in Mykonos Town: Bill & Coo Suites and Lounge (…wow!)
  • Best Private Villa to rent in Mykonos Town: there are no villas inside Mykonos Town so if you are looking for a villa you will stay close to a beach or outside the main townlike the exceptional Elia White Residence (OMG!)
  • Where to Stay in Mykonos:  it’s always better if you stay close to the capital Mykonos Town because the island is not as diverse as Santorini and you’ll be isolated if you are not close to the main town where all the shops, bars, clubs and the buzz is . If you want to be closer to one of the beaches I’d recommend staying close to Ornos beach.
  • Why should you stay at Mykonos Town: because you will be close to all the shopping, all the amazing restaurants and the great nightlife of the island (unless you want to be closer to the Mykonos beaches)

So…without further ado, let’s see the Best Hotels in Mykonos Town (or Mykonos City as you may have seen being referred to):

Cavo Tagoo is one of the most instagrammable hotels of Mykonos

My view: the location and the pool of Cavo Tagoo is out of this world and the yummy breakfast and service just compliments that. Set your instagram on fire with those pool shots!

Bill & Coo is the most impressively designed hotel on the island

My view: hands down this is one of the most cosmopolitan and impressive hotels of the islands. The restaurant is one of the most well designed in Europe and the service is pure 5 star.

Belvedere offers amazing pool and views while in the city centre of Mykonos

My view: this is one of the most famous Mykonos hotels and it is famous for some very good reasons. The staff is amazing and the location is perfect as you will be staying very close to the city centre though you won’t feel you are in the town as the pool and the amazing view will take you far far away… Oh, and the breakfast is delicious!

Amazing views a stunning swimming pool from Tharroe

My view: this is one of the most impressive swimming pools of the whole island. This view is s-t-u-n-n-i-n-g ! Also, the staff is extremely helpful and you’ll also be very close to the Mykonos City (15-20mins walk)

Boheme has an incredibly relaxing atmosphere and look

My view: there is a very good reason that this place is called Boheme. There is a homey and relaxed feeling all over the place and even though it’s a relatively small hotel with only 20 rooms , the staff will be extremely helpful and pay attention to all the details that will make your stay on eof the best you’ve ever had.

Semeli is close to the town centre but feels very quiet and seclusive

My view: incredible staff, impeccable rooms and amazing views from your personal balconies. Semeli Hotel is also extremely close to the city center but that doesn’t mean you won’t feel relaxed or quiet. There is a “homey” feeling to this place.

Vencia has an impressive infinity pool

My view: this is a real gem with one of the most impressive infinity pools of Mykonos. It’s not a surprise that this is so highly rated online, everywhere. Get ready to be wow’ed…

Kouros offers one of the best breakfasts of the island

My view: this is one of the best breakfasts of the island. Super delicious! The private suites are really unique with very modern design and really awesome private pools (possibly some of the best you can find in Mykonos).

Livin has an amazing patio and a relaxing swimming pool

My view: exceptional facilities, lovely stuff and food to die for…one of the best hotels of the island just minutes outside of Mykonos Town

Hermes has one of the best pools at Mykonos Town

My view: one of the best swimming pools in Mykonos Town and some of the best stuff you will find on the island; location is also great , just minutes away from the city centre

Myconian Korali offers celebrity style luxury accommodation

My view: this is one of the most luxurious hotels in Mykonos Town and offers 5 star accommodation with exceptional rooms, a massive pool and food from famous greek chefs

  • Best Place To Stay in Mykonos: Mykonos Town – it has the best hotels of the island and it is where all the buzz, the nightlife, the best restaurants and shopping is
  • Best Hotel in Mykonos: Cavo Tagoo Mykonos (but Rocabella Mykonos is also equally amazing…)
  • How to Book a Hotel for Mykonos: go to Booking.com and make your choice. Airbnb has far less available rooms and villas in Mykonos.
  • Best Nightlife in Mykonos: if nightlife and party is your no.1 priority then you have to stay in Mykonos Town
  • Best Beach Hotels and Places in Mykonos: If you want to be close to the best beaches of Mykonos then you have to stay either at Ornos or Platis Gialos; however all other areas are basically beach front places so you can also stay at Agios Ioannis, Agios Stefanos, Panormos or Megali Ammos if you really like a hotel and you will be minutes away from a beach anyways
  • Best Cheap Hotels in Mykonos: there are cheap but good hotels all over Mykonos (but the island is very expensive in general compared to other greek islands), so you chances are that you will probably find a good budget hotel in Mykonos Town. The best budget hotel in Mykonos is Hotel Spanelis
  • Best Family Place in Mykonos: Ornos or Platis Gialos – they are both beautiful beach resorts with amazing family friendly hotels that won’t disappoint you
  • Most Romantic Place in Mykonos: it really doesn’t matter as the most important thing will be the hotel or the resort you will choose to stay ; Nissaki Boutique Hotel is considered one of the best honeymoon hotels in Mykonos and all hotels are easily accessible
  • Steps and stairs: compared to Santorini, you won’t have too many steps and stairs to go through in Mykonos
  • Best Alternative Places to Stay in Mykonos: Agios Stefanos or Panormos are lovely with 2 of the best beaches in Mykonos

CONCLUSION

In my honest opinion, the best hotel in Mykonos Town is Cavo Tagoo Mykonos.

All the other options though, won’t leave you disappointed as we are talking about some of the most luxurious and impressive hotels in Greece (and probably in Europe) here.
