The stunning ON Residence overlooks the seaside of Thessaloniki and the Thermaic Gulf
The Best Hotels in Thessaloniki are mostly located close to the centre of the second largest city of Greece and usually close to the seaside. Thessaloniki is called the co-capital of the country by Greeks and it’s a lively city with thousands of years of history and probably the best food in Greece. In the last decades, the city has seen the development of some incredibly well-designed and chic hotels, which are on my list below.

BUT ALSO CHECK:
Thessaloniki is the capital of Macedonia and the second-largest city in Greece with lots of things to see and do. The city has some of the most incredible urban hotels in the country and I dare to say that some of them are even better than the ones you can find in Athens. Thessaloniki with its international airport can also be your base to explore the wonderful are of Halkidiki and its famous resort areas such as Kassandra or Sithonia.
Thessaloniki is quite far from Athens up in the north of Greece, but it’s very well connected by bus or by a 1 hour direct flight. You can also fly to Thessaloniki from pretty much every European City such as London, Berlin, Paris, Hamburg, Barcelona or even Madrid and Rome. There are international flights to Thessaloniki throughout the year as it’s not a seasonal destination but a hub for the whole of the Balkans (always check Expedia for the most up-to-date flights to Greek destinations).
You do not need a car in Thessaloniki as the city has great transportation with hundreds of local buses that can take you anywhere (there is a metro system that is about to open soon). I highly recommend you use the public transportation and even walk to explore the city in the best way possible. You can always call one of the thousands of taxis in the city from anywhere and Uber or FREENOW apps are fully functional in Thessaloniki.
