The stunning views of Apolis Villas & Suites in Parga
The Best Hotels in Parga are mostly located around Parga town or close to the famous Valtos beach and Chrysogiali area, but there are nice hotels all over the area. Parga is a very unique place of mainland western Greece (if the sky is clear you can even see Paxos island further away), where you feel like being on an island but you are not actually. Parga has been a favourite place of Italians who visit Greece but even Greeks who live in northern Greece as it’s a great family resort town with a lovely Venetian Castle and super cute romantic restaurants.

Parga is one of the best holiday towns in north-west Greece with thousands of years of history and impressive hotel infrastructure along with a very romantic castle and old town. The last time I was there I literally felt like being on an island as the architecture of the town is pretty similar to Corfu or Kefalonia, and you tend to forget that you are in fact on mainland Greece.
Parga is quite far from Athens, but you don’t have to go to Athens at all. You can reach it by directly flying to Aktion International Airport from many European cities like London, Berlin, Paris, Hamburg, Amsterdam or even Milan. There are many direct flights between May and October for the summer (always check Ferryhopper for the latest ferry schedules and Booking.com Flights for the most up-to-date flights to Greek destinations). From Aktion International Airport, you then have to drive or take a bus for about 1 hour to reach Parga.
My advice is to rent a car in Parga so that you explore the area in the most flexible way. There are not that frequent buses and you will find it difficult to move around without your own means of transportation.

VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW ABOUT PARGA
- Best Area To Stay in Parga: The best area to stay in Parga is on the hills and mountains behind the main old town and castle so that you get the best views of the area. I don’t recommend staying in the old town as it gets very busy in the summer.
- Best Hotel in Parga:
- Best Villa in Parga: River Villa
- How many days do you need in Parga: the area is ideal for a week’s holiday as it has everything and it’s pretty much isolated from other areas in mainland Greece with not much happening around. Everything you would need is in a 10 mins ride from beaches to nightlife.
- How to Move Around in Parga: I highly recommend renting your own car or other vehicle in Parga as the area does not have the best public transportation. Unless you are staying in your hotel and don’t go anywhere else, you would need a car to go to nearby beaches or to the lovely restaurants of the old town.
